The Marys Among Us
Read: Luke 1:46-49
This passage is about the gift that Mary was given from God and her acceptance of the gift with grace not pride. Many times I have questioned what gifts God has given me. Then when I was questioning “why me” I heard loud and clear from God. Recently several former and current students and players approached me to reminisce about why they liked my class, enjoyed being part of the team, or how they missed being part of the school. It is just what I needed to hear. I realized that God has given me a gift of working with students to help them achieve their goals and show someone cares about them. And like Mary, I knew it was not me, it was God who placed me in the places he wanted me to be to use the gifts he has given me to honor him.
Prayer: God, please help us to accept the gifts and talents you have given us and to use these gifts in a way that will honor and glorify your name. Amen
