Seeing Christ in Each Other
Read: Luke 1:39-42

Scripture says the baby leapt in Elizabeth’s womb at the sound of Mary’s voice. Elizabeth knew Mary was special. This ordinary girl had been chosen by God to be the mother of his son. The bible is full of stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Abraham was quite elderly, but God chose him to lead the Israelites. Moses stuttered and he received the Ten Commandments. Jesus disciples were fishermen and common laborers. Matthew was a tax collector.

How often do we meet someone and dismiss them as not worth our time? We look at them through the world’s eyes instead of with God’s eyes. Our differences make us unique, but every person is special, created in God’s image. How wonderful it would be if we could see the extraordinary in everyone we meet, and think about them as the child of God that they are.

Prayer: Help me to see the extraordinary in each person I meet. Amen
